Oh rotisserie chicken (pref lemon rosemary), how I love you and your versatility.
When I'm at a loss for something to eat, I go to my fave back-up, which is a rotisserie chicken from Albertson's. Now, they do that meal deal where you get a bag w/ a chicken, 4 King's Hawaiian rolls (OMG, how good are they?), and either a pound of potato salad, macaroni salad, or fried potato wedges for like $8. Pretty good deal, 'eh? I myself get the potato wedges, even though I shouldn't...but I only allow myself to eat the 4-5 I can woof down between Albertson's and my place (about 10 blocks), and then I give the rest of the bag over to the valet guys in the garage. That way I feel a lil' satisfied, and I've also passed on the love. :)
Last night I immediately cut a chunk of the chicken breast w/ all the seasonings and shredded it onto a salad w/ this yummy new Kraft Light dressing I found: Asian Toasted Sesame. It was pretty yummy w/ some tomatoes and avocado. I've tossed the remainder of the chicken in the fridge, where I will retrieve it this evening and pull every last piece of chick-chick from it by hand, and either make a pasta dish or casserole out of it. Oooh, chicken enchiladas are calling! :) (If it were Fall/Winter, I'd make homeade chicken noodle soup w/ egg noodes, celery, carrots, and green onions!)
Dessert? Yogi-Licious will CHANGE YOUR LIFE! Listen to me people, RUN OUT and get some (Mondrian @ City Place in West Village)! Over 12 flavors of fro-yo and TONS of toppings - I myself get mango, kiwi, pomegranate seeds, mini yogurt chips, and mochi (tapioca gummies). The yogurt is really low in calories, and it's great loaded w/ fruit. I eat it at least twice a week! lol
Ahh, the name, the name, what's up w/ the 'About Me' name? In case you're wondering where "Ms. Sparkstein-Whoreowitz" came from, I inherited it, a' la David Presta! :) I have a knack for finding bargains, and knowing where the best deals are, and on top of that, I'm also likely to have a coupon I will also put into play. (Hence the name of the blog itself). So, Mr. Presta knighted me "Sparkstein" (Disclaimer: I am making NO affiliations here w/ any religious faction, nor am I condoning the like - make your own assumptions, and draw your own conclusions at your own will!). :)
So, I decided to use the name, and to be more authentic, I needed something that was hyphenated to go along w/ it. Hence the play on "Horowitz". Hey, a girl can dream.
And a snippet from one of my fave W&G episodes that contained this sequence: Glenn Close: "Oh, you're Jewish!" Debra Messing (Grace): "How'd you know that?" Glenn Close: "Cheap underwear!"
Yeah, me too! But I had a blast hangin' w/ my boys this past weekend. And who knew Euless, TX has a smattering of Russian folks - odd. Anyhoozlebees, they run this quaint lil' bar (read: whole in the wall) called Marina's, w/ really good bar food, 2 mic's, and a stage - and we made the best of it.
THANK YOU Turbo Tax, and THANK GOD for the 1st time home buyers credit! haha (Cuz my overtime here, combined w/ my SLT wages, pretty much screwed me outta' my usual $800'ish by pushing me into a diff tax bracket). But at least I got the full credit, although it woulda' been nice to add the $845 onto what I had in the lil' green window, before T-Tax zipped it away after I put in my SLT W-2. Bastards! lol
And if you filed with T-Tax, did you watch the lil' cool vid about Quicken Picks? How freakin' cool is that!? Y'all know I'm totally gonna' do it. Get paid to shop, hell's yeah! :) You use your same log in as T-Tax, and if you download the toolbar, it alerts you when you're on a retail site that's part of the program, and tracks the money you've earned as you drop shit in your cart - hey now!
Okay, so, I'm taking the plunge - but I'm not making any promises. I was never one of those little girls w/ a diary, ruby satin shoes, and fuzzy headed pencils (well, okay, maybe a few - thank you Sanrio).
But here you will find a potpourri of offerings from me, including but not limited to:
